JOSEPHINE NDAMBUKI- CHIEF MANAGER, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & INNOVATION

Josephine is a technology Strategy specialist with over 12 years’ experience working in technology and telecommunication sector in Kenya. Previously Josephine worked in Strategy planning department at Safaricom where she is involved in the overall strategy research, planning and execution management for the business. Josephine spent over seven years planning; implementing and supporting core transport networks in both terrestrial and submarine segments. She was involved as the only lady-commissioning engineer for the pioneer undersea cable in East Africa, TEAMS. 

Josephine is passionate about mentoring the next generation of Tech leaders with a focus on youth and women in Tech through creation of opportunities for learning, mentor ship networking.  She has been instrumental in the establishment of programs such as Safaricom women in technology, Technovation challenge- Kenya and DigitizeHer.

Josephine has served as a trustee of the Safaricom Foundation where she championed the economic empowerment pillar, she has also served as the vice chair of the Safaricom Sacco up to 2019. She has been recognised in different platforms in the course of her work. As a diversity and inclusion business executive finalist – 2019, Zuri awards finalist 2018, Vodafone women in red 2015 and is one of top 40 women under 40 recognized by the business daily – 2014, Techwomen 2013 and Global change leader – 2011.

Academically, Josephine holds a BSC computer Science degree (1st class), a MBA – Strategic Management and is currently pursuing a PHD in Business – Entrepreneurship and small business development with a bias on research in Technology enterprises. Josephine is also a certified Prince 2 practitioner.
