About the Event
Konza Technopolis, in partnership with High Lander Aviation and Blims Technologies Ltd., is proud to host the official launch of Africa’s first operational Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) system. This historic event comes following the licensing and gazettement of the Konza Drone Corridor by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) as a national testbed for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone operations.
Why it Matters
The Konza U-Space project is a pioneering milestone in African airspace innovation. Built on advanced platforms—Vega UTM, Vega Common Information Service (CIS), and Orion Drone Fleet Management (DFM)—the system enables:
-
- Real-time drone identification and tracking
- Geo-awareness
- Flight authorization
- Strategic deconfliction
- Conformance monitoring

This project places Kenya at the forefront of drone traffic management, paving the way for safer, smarter, and scalable drone operations across the continent.
