Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) will be hosting a webinar/training in Cyber Security for the Girls in ICT on Monday, 28th February 2022.
While cyber security breaches have continued to rise in the past few years, new research has shown that the gap in cybersecurity skills continues to persist with women lagging even further behind – make up approximately 20 percent of the cybersecurity workforce.
The global demand for cybersecurity skills far exceeds the current supply of traditionally qualified individuals. This presents an opportunity for budding professionals in the field, particularly girls. A training on Cyber Security for the girls under the Girls in ICT Initiative is therefore timely and strategic.
Engagement with women who have taken cybersecurity as a career choice to showcase their experiences and their journey is important to pave way for future generations. It is vital for the young girls to know that women can think strategically to help address threats to cybersecurity. It is essential to have a mix of viewpoints from diverse practitioners to tackle the problem and improve chances of success against cybercriminals.
The training will be hosted by the Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs, KoTDA and Women in Technology Huawei.
